Join Andie Thompson, owner of Rozzi & Fridas and natural dye artist, for a fun, hands-on workshop at Home Ec + Best Bud. In this workshop, you’ll create your own unique tie-dye designs on both cotton and silk bandanas using natural dyes. Create two perfect eco-friendly pieces for you or someone you love!
We’ll work with beautiful, plant-based dye materials like logwood, madder root, marigold and coreopsis petals, onion skins, and cochineal to bring rich, vibrant colors to your fabric. You’ll learn a variety of tie-dye folding and binding techniques, then layer your bandanas with natural dye materials to see how each plant creates its own special effect.
Along the way, we’ll talk about how natural dyeing is a simple, creative way to be more mindful -- reducing waste, reusing materials, and staying connected to the natural world.
No experience needed. All supplies are included. Just bring your curiosity, love for color, and a willingness to experiment. You’ll leave with two beautiful, hand-dyed bandanas and the know-how to keep creating at home.
